Some tin different...

I love this idea of using tin cans as a substitute for plant pots. So whenever I see painted food cans I snap them up to add an individual touch to my garden.
So if what they say is true  'you are what you eat' I could be an olive any day now!

Rain rain go away...

What a  miserable day!

I only ventured into the garden to gather some mixed lettuce leaves for lunch.

If you want to grow something then grow mixed lettuce leaves (cut and grow again), they are so easy.

* Just buy a packet of seeds, choose your container, fill with seed sowing compost, water (do it now as you don't want to wash the seeds away) then sprinkle the seeds over the compost. Put in the garden and keep watered. Hey presto! In a week or so you will have your own lettuce growing. Ready to pick.
It's as simple as that!

Dear diary...

Before starting this blog I kept my own garden diary, something I will still continue. The little drawings and sketches on each page are coloured in using crayons ~ a favourite childhood pastime.

Bloomin' Marvellous

Camera at the ready! A few shots I have taken of some pretty plants in my garden.

Planting the seed...

I had so much to do today but it all depended on the weather. The forecast wasn't looking good so I had to try and dodge the rain.
I didn't get out into the garden until the afternoon, the gloomy weather didn't look like it was going to budge. So when I did manage to get out I first wanted to repot some tomato plants. I have been quite successful with growing them from seed and seem to have too many plants now. A glorious glut!
The golden coloured courgettes I ordered from Sutton seeds are doing well too. Fruits are beginning to appear on all the plants, something I am very excited about and can't wait to eat.
Just enough time to water all the garden and feed the tomato plants before heading in for a nice hot cuppa!
